Company: Edward White Hospital
I’ve Been a BPW Member since:2007
Title / Postion: Director of Marketing/Physician Relations
During my real job I: I am in charge of the marketing and public relations for the hospital, as well as the volunteer program and the H2U program - (formally known as Senior Friends)
Experience/background: Growing up, my father was in the military, and we lived in 8 different states, and 3 countries, including Japan and Germany. I graduated from HS in Henderson, Nevada, and attend the University of Nevada -Reno to study marketing. In my early 30's, I had a calling to become a nurse. So - I went back to school and earned my nursing degree from SPC. I practiced for 5 years, but then found a way to combine the 2 fields by working in healthcare marketing. I am married to the love of my life - Jamie Bennett. We have 3 incredible children, 23, 21 and 12.
Community activities: With my husband serving as a city council person, I find myself involved with many of the wonderful things happening in our great city. I am also a member of the League of Women Voters, and have been a Girl Scout leader for more than 15 years
I’ve Lived in Florida for 17 years.
Birthplace: Texas
Most notable accomplishment: I was part of team involved with the development and construction of a school in Haiti.
Something you may not know about me: I graduated from Eckerd College last Month!
Professional goals: Healthcare Administration
Personal goals: Explore MBA programs, remodel my house, and help my husband get re-elected in November!
Why I joined BPW: Networking
Why I remain in BPW: Great source of information.
My words of wisdom: One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in my bank account nor what my clothes looked like. But the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child.
